The Geely Emgrand is the 4th model that the automaker has brought into the Philippines. It is also the brand's first sedan model. Unlike the rest of the vehicles in the local lineup, the Emgrand is the only one to come with a naturally aspirated engine. Under the hood, it is powered by a 1.5-liter gasoline motor that produces 102hp and 142 Nm of torque that sends power to the front wheels via a CVT. The Geely Emgrand also comes with an 8-inch infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
Launch
The Geely Emgrand was launched on February 25, 2022, and came with three available variants. All of the available models are powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine that produces 102hp and 142 Nm of torque. Transmission options for the sedan include either a 5-speed manual or a CVT. As for its standard equipment, the Emgrand gets a 8-inch infotainment system with wireless screen mirroring along with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, and hill start assist.

Technology Features
The Geely Emgrand, in terms of technology, comes with an 8-inch infotainment system that has wireless screen mirroring capabilities which are mated to either a 2, 4, or 6-speaker sound system. It also comes with rear aircon vents and a hands-free trunk release system. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is also available with the sedan but for certain variants only.
Exterior
The Geely Emgrand showcases the latest design language that the brand offers, it comes with a sleek look and a massive grille at the front. The large grille is flanked on either side by either halogen projector headlights or LED headlights depending on the variant chosen. As standard for its exterior features, the Emgrand comes with LED daytime running lights along with power side mirrors. For its wheels and tires combination, the lower S variant gets 15-inch steel wheels with 195/65 series tires, while the Premium and Comfort models get 17-inch alloy wheels with 205/50 series tires.
Interior
The Geely Emgrand comes with two choices for its interior colors, for the lower variants of the sedan it comes with a black interior, while its Premium model comes with a white and blue combination. There are no power seat options available for the lower models, but the Premium variant does get access to a 6-way power-adjustable driver's seat. As for its seat material, lower variants get fabric, while the top-of-the-line model gets leather.
Safety
For safety, the Geely Emgrand comes standard with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, Traction control, a tire pressure monitoring system, an immobilizer, and central locking. Other safety features of the sedan for its higher variants include front row side airbags, side curtain airbags, a reverse camera, rear parking sensors, and cruise control.

The Geely Emgrand Comfort does not come with the sporty driving dynamics as its stablemates, but it does check the right boxes of being comfortable and fuel-efficient daily.
The new Emgrand will go toe to toe against the likes of the Toyota Vios, Honda City, Nissan Almera, and the MG 5 to battle it out in the subcompact sedan segment.
Geely's grand answer to the age old question: "can anyone top the Toyota Vios?" With this car, it's not outside of the realm of possibility. This is the 2022 Geely Emgrand for the Philippine market, and just like the Coolray, it's affordably priced, loaded with features, and refined in all senses of the word. Having a CVT transmission, one cannot really expect much in terms of torque power. Having said that, I still find it a little weak when I want the power I need on an instant. Otherwise, it would be 5/5.
Emgrand Premium compared to cars at this price( Vios, City),
the following features outperformed the 2:
Ride comfort, driver and passnger comfort, and NVH, interior and external design, safety / airbags
The ff are at par with the 2:
Handling , responsiveness
The ff is doubtful, but I have positive outlook:
Serviceability, including availability of soare parts
Reliability and longevity.
Over all, after 1 month of ownership, stilln in honeymoon period, Emgrand is superior to Vios and City.

Overall fun car to drive. 2+ weeks now with no issues whatsoever. No regrets at all! Still figuring out ways to lower fuel consumption (currently averaging 9km/l). :) Way better though since our previous car was a V6 SUV (4 to 5km/l). Other than that, good quality car fit for my family of 5 (3 adults and 2 kiddos). Kudos Geely Kawit for great service!
